How To Re-link Comet V4 on network |

For those programs that are networked, occasionally one of your workstations may lose the link to the Comet data file. If you are not seeing any data when you open Comet, you could have possibly lost the link to your data. If you see a "The Required file 'CometDBV4' could not be found" message when you open Comet, most likely you have lost the link to the main data file. One reason for losing a link could be that the computer to which everyone is linked may have been shut down while someone was in Comet. Press OK and proceed with instructions. Instructions for re-linking Comet to your CometDBV4.mdb (data) file:
Tips for better running COMET on a network Make sure CometDBV4.mdb is in the same version of MS Access that your workstations are using. If you need to convert the Comet Data file Contact COMET Tech support or your network administrator. Make sure your client workstations are up to date on MS Office updates. CometV4 may uses updated libraries. To check if your workstation MS Office is up to date check the MS Office update page. |
