New Features in Comet Version 4

Improved Placements: 

From the Group Information screen you can enter placements for children without a hearing.  The new placement form will also show a history of placements for the child and information about the placement.

CASA Program Case Supervisor:  

New Direct Relationship Between Child and Case Supervisor.  Case supervisor is added to Childs Record and new Case Supervisor section on main menu.  A listing of all cases assigned to case supervisor, and history of case assignments.

Improved Navigation:

More Go To  Buttons: Comet now lets you move from the Case Supervisor, Case Worker, Attorney, and Judge screens to the Group and Child Information. Within the Case Supervisor Section, simply click on the Go To Button next to the Childs name and the button takes you to the Child Information screen for the assigned.. To go back to the Assigned person screens, simply choose the person in the child information section and click on the go to button next to the name.

Search Feature Volunteer and Group Information:  New volunteer search filters volunteers by all, assigned or sworn in and not discharged. Also added search button to search for Children by open groups.

Quick Assign Volunteer: Lets user search for volunteer to assign by assignments.

Report Menu Button: Comet now lets you move from the Child Information or Volunteer screen  to the Report Menu without using the main menu. Simply click on the Report Menu Button in the Child Information Section and see the report menu display with the affiliated group name information filled in, to get back to your group simply click the "back" button on the report section. 

Data Maintenance Checking:  

This new feature helps CASA Program check for possible errors or inconsistencies in the data.  This tool will be valuable for programs running COMET reports or finding missing demographic data. 

Expanded Data Entry Options and Other Features

Close All Button: Puts close date on all persons and petitions affiliated with child's case.  

Re-open Case:  In Child Closing Information a new re-open button that lets you re-open a case and keep original Date Assigned to program stored in new table. If Childs case has closed program date press Re-open Case Button, case will re-open and original closed date will be stored in table.  Will also show original Date Assigned to Program in case Information Section.

Revised Split Group Activity: modified function will now split case activity of group by children selected.  

Revised Copy Child Information:  modified screen includes Case Supervisor and closing information. 

Revised Court Orders/Permanent Plans Screen: modified screen lets user see court orders and permanent plans in Group Information Section. 

New Meetings Tracking Section:  Lets user track meetings that Children, Families and interested persons are involved.

Additional Report Options

Report Menu Button : Comet now lets you move from the Child Information or Volunteer screen  to the Report Menu without using the main menu. Simply click on the Report Menu Button in the Child Information Section and see the report menu display with the affiliated group name information filled in, to get back to your group simply click the "back" button on the report section. 

Export Report to MS Word: Comet now lets you export reports into MS word to edit or print out.

Comet V4 New Features by sections:

Group Information

1. Added Search for Children by Active Groups
2. Placements Screen - Enter placements on child without hearings
3. Split Group Activity – Revised Case Activity to split among children and vols.
4. Report Menu Option Enter Reports Section with affiliated group and return to group information.
5. Meeting Section Added. Similar to Hearings Section lets user track meetings.
6. Court Orders History Section added. Lets users see court order services by Group. 
7. Permanent Plans available to view and update on group information

Child Information: 
1.   Split Group Activity – Revised to split activity by group. 
2.   Deceased Field – Will stop aging process for child and mark a red “Deceased” after child’s name
3.   Case Supervisor added to Childs Record
4.   Priority Case Check Box added to child Record “Flags” case with Priority in red
5.   New User Defined Field like the disabilities field – Lets users define own categories to affiliate with child.
6.   Re-open Case Selection, In Case Closing Information. Button that lets you re-open a case and keep original Date Assigned to program in New Table. Enter date and press Re-open Case Button. (Will also show original Date Assigned to Program) In case Information Section.
7.   Close All button added closes all persons affiliated with a child. 
8.   Petition Section Revised with end date.
9.   Case Activity By Child Assigned to Volunteer
10. Quick Assign Volunteer – Lets user search for volunteer to assign by assignments
11.  Zip and County list Maintenance Tables

Volunteer Information:
1. Search Feature for Volunteers 
2. Display on Volunteer Status of Children currently serving and total volunteer Training Hours.
3. Discharge Reasons Volunteer (List Maintenance Table)
4. Zip and County list Maintenance Tables
5. Revised Split Group Case Activity Section
6. Report Menu Option Enter Reports Section with affiliated volunteer and return to Volunteer information

Placement Facilities
1. New Category for Placement facility Agency, list Maintenance Table 
2. Listing of Most Recent: Placement
3. Listing of History of Placements
4. Add a Child to the placement facility without hearing. 

New Data Checking Features: 
1. Check/Update Volunteer, Attorney, Case Worker Closed Dates
2. Check Dates Children Assigned To Program
