State Self-Assessment
As the central component of the National CASA Quality Assurance system,
the self-assessment is a tool to assist CASA/GAL state organizations in
identifying those areas where the organization has fully implemented the
national standards as well as areas to improve. All state organization
members of National CASA will be required to complete the
self-assessment process between December 2005 and May 2006. Upon
completion, the self-assessment will be reviewed and scored by a team of
independent reviewers. Reviewers will develop a report indicating the
state organization’s level of compliance with national standards as well
as organizational strengths, recommendations for improvement and—in the
case of a state organization not in compliance with national
standards—required areas for completion to achieve compliance. State
organizations that do not achieve compliance upon initial submission of
the self-assessment will have six months to gain compliance. Please
contact National CASA Quality Assurance Manager
Shelley Morgan for more
information. |

(found at the end of the state self-assessment instrument). You will
find examples of them here to help you develop your own program
documents. Go to

right corner of the document (i.e. Standard I: Mission
Statement)
- Send three (3) copies of each document.
